Dr Fleur-Michelle Coiffait
Founder and Principal Clinical Psychologist

I am an independent clinical psychologist with 18 years of clinical and research experience working with people of a range of ages to better understand their strengths and difficulties and work towards fulfilling their potential. This includes 11 years working in the NHS and 2 years working for a charity providing specialist educational and residential settings for children and young people with complex needs.

I am an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society and hold Chartered Psychologist status. I am also a Registered Practitioner Psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council.

I completed my doctoral clinical psychology training over a period of 5 years at the University of Edinburgh, specialising in working with children and young people with developmental disorders. My doctoral research thesis concluded that parents who had children with profound and multiple disabilities had increased levels of wellbeing when they had an internal locus of control in relation to their parenting role.

I have completed post-qualification training in specialist social communication assessment tools, including the Autism Diagnostic Interview - Revised (ADI-R) and the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS-2). I also currently work as a Clinical Lead for Neurodevelopment for a highly renowned company that has NHS contracts to provide neurodevelopmental assessments for children, young people and adults across the UK.

I lecture on clinical psychology doctoral training courses, have had a number of book chapters and journal articles published and have made TV appearances providing a psychological perspective on current issues such as the impact of COVID19 on families.
